This year marks the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, so we might have a huge surprise in store – the new iPhone 8. The release date is expected to be in September 2017 due to delays related to its new 3D camera.
The iPhone 8 screen may radically change in size and shape, and the new iPhone 8 is going to sport a curved AMOLED display instead of a the usual flat LCD panel. The AMOLED display can deliver better contrast, more vibrant colors and include a battery-saving always-on display.
The iPhone 8 screen size it’ll be a 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch and up to 5.8 inches.
What to expect from the new iPhone 8:
iOS 11 software
5.8in edge-to-edge screen with no bezels and no physical home button
3D front-facing camera could replace Touch ID
Long-range wireless charging – may not come until 2018
Apple A11 processor
64- or 256GB with 3GB RAM
Latest Intel LTE modem
Possible change in case material to glass or ceramic – or just glass back
The glass iPhone 8 rumor has since been given more weight, with the CEO of the company behind the iPhone’s metal casing claiming one model of the phone “will adopt glass casing next year“, but now, we’re unsure if the design is being readied exclusively for the higher-end 5.8-inch iPhone 8 Plus, or if all iPhone 8 models are due for the glass upgrade.
